Treat oxygen as a route timer
Do not wait for a low-oxygen emergency. Decide how much oxygen you are willing to spend exploring, fighting, and collecting before you enter a dangerous lane.
- Set a retreat lineChoose a conservative oxygen threshold while learning a zone.
- Price every detourAsk whether a pickup is worth the travel time and exposure.
- Fight while repositioningAvoid spending oxygen circling the same blocked area.
- Preserve an escape laneDo not let enemy density close every route at once.
- Adjust after each runIf you repeatedly fail near the same depth, retreat earlier until your build improves.
Push deeper when…
- Your current damage clears a path without long stalls.
- You still have a visible, low-density escape route.
- The reward advances the run more than a safer alternative.
Turn back when…
- You are spending too long on ordinary enemies.
- You need a perfect dodge sequence just to exit.
- You are chasing one optional pickup with no oxygen buffer.
